Random follow #248 - @muzzashow

Its really amusing when someone 'famous' follows you or talks to you on social media.  Back in the day radio was king.  There were a handful of stations that people listened to and everyone was very tribal about it all.  You were either aligned with one station or another.

@muzzashow was (and is ) a DJ who hosted the morning show and kept everyone entertained for many years in the Auckland area.  And since those heady days with all the hype and attention things have slowed down a little.  Well maybe more than a little and more like a lot.  But hey - we're all getting older and the times change.

So whats Muzza up to now?  Well he's still on the airwaves which is really nice.  When you are able to engage and carry on with your passion long after your days of fame have dimmed then that shows what a
true love you have for what you are doing. If you're thinking of listening in then head over to http://www.theflea.co.nz and check out that he is up to.

As far as twitter goes this is a relatively new venture for him.  However given his work history and ability to entertain stringing together 140 characters into an understandable and entertaining sentence is something he is good at.  Here are a few examples -

"Cold in Devonport folks 12 degrees Brrrr colder than stepmothers breath" <-- family relations

"tony abbot rhymes with phony habit ..yeah that is lame I know" <-- politics

"The Chinese are selling funnels to help men pee straight to avoid making a mess in public restrooms which could result in a fine of $15." <-- interesting (and slightly puzzling) facts from around the world.

@muzzashow is a really nice and genuine guy who if you tweet him will reply to you.  He isn't on twitter to be Mr Popular but to engage with people the whole world round for the very same reasons that you and I are on here.

If you look hard enough you will find him hanging out at his favorite coffee shop, sitting back and savouring the flavor of a fine coffee at a number of cafe's in Devonport.  If you do see him out and about - say hello and offer to buy him a coffee.  Muzza is a really nice guy (who by all accounts also has a very sexy voice - according to the females) who is as engaging in real life as he is (was) on the radio.

Random follow #175- @trishdotcom

Young, intelligent and attractive.  Three words which aptly describe today's random tweeter.  There are also a few other words we can use as well.  Hard working, industrious, ambitious, willing to take a risk and loyal.  A few more words.

@trishdotcom is each of the things I have written above to various degrees.  Just for the record we need to clear up a few things first - 1. She isn't related to Kimdotcom, 2. She isn't Kimdotcom's wife or partner, 3. She isn't an Internet financial billionaire (yet).

Trishdotcom is a tweeter I have followed for a while.  And then through a knee jerk reaction to a tweet (one in hindsight that was actually funny) I unfollowed her.  And then refollowed once I realized the error of my ways.  So it's been a bit of a journey in getting to this point.  But it's totally worth it.

There is a shift that occurs when you meet someone in real life. The shift for me occurred when I got to meet Trish a few weeks ago.  Her height is only outshone by her smile.  Her tweets which she shares online are a definite extension of her as a person.  There is no difference between the two.  So when she says at 2pm that "is it time for a beer yet?" She means it.

So what sort of tweets do you get?  Well let's have a look -

"Speaking from experience I can truly say Money does not buy happiness, but being able to be 100% myself has brought me total happiness :-D"  <-- That's some truth right there.

"Am I a bad girlfriend?, I forgot how to spell my boyfriends last name. After about 7 attempts he had to help me out."  Note - her boyfriends name is Adam....  :-p

"If you always tell the truth you don't need to have a good memory"

Just like her tweets Trish calls it as it is.  You know exactly where you stand.  She calls things straight and isn't afraid to call you out if she thinks you're talking rubbish.  On the flip side though she is incredibly loyal and will totally defend her friends through think and thin.

So if you enjoy a mix of tweets - from engaging, encouraging and enticing, a little bit of colorful language and recommendations to drink more beer and that is the lady herself.  If those aspects sound interesting then go for it and follow - follow - follow!!!

Random follow #164 - @_snozzberry_

@_snozzberry_ is one tweeter who is setting social media on fire.  Like a drag racing car that leaves flames in its tracks - such is this tweeters approach to the twitterverse.  I can totally say that her raucous and hilarious tweets have been setting my timeline alight.  Livi is pretty much completely new to twitter having just broken the 800 tweets mark.  In this case the quality totally outweighs the quantity.

This straight shooter fires off her tweets faster than Chuck Norris can reload a M16.  A couple of days ago she asked the question - "When are you considered a "twitter sensation"? I'm asking because I just got my 50th follower?" - well I say that is Livi keeps going the way she is she will have her very own reality television show in no time at all!

So what is she like as a tweeter.  Well, try wrapping your laughing gear around this lot -

"Off to the ex, ex, ex mother in laws for dinner. "Where the rissoles taste the same as the stew taste the same as the bolognese" #yolo"

No subject matter is untouchable or not funny.  And she keeps going -

"Want to impress your workmates during #maorilanguageweek? Try "Kī tōnu taku waka topaki i te ngeru" (My hovercraft is full of cats)"

And the occasional musical opinion - 

"Ive listened to Lana Del Rays "Young and beautiful" way too much today. Might go home and eat cake with my hands in the shower."

This is a "no bull tweets" zone.  @_snozzberry_ brings seriously funny tweets to life.  These are not second and RT's or content copied from others.  Rather these tweets are delivered from a lady with a sharp intellect and a take no prisoners approach to sharing her views with the world.

Quite possibly the best description or disclaimer for this tweeter is the way she describes herself right here - 

"I hope people can interpret correctly when Im being sarcastic."

This twitter account right here is a rising star.   Follow her early so you can say you knew her before she made it big on TV.  p.s. if you have an irish accent - she will.  That is all.

Random follow #46 - @peanutwings

I was challenged today to do a random follow of the first tweeter that twitter put into the recommended box.  Now I have tried not to take this blog project too seriously and today's post will further cement that notion into place.

@peanutwings is the very small, very adorable and very likeable pet of the one and only @WendyWings. If you haven't met @peanutwings yet he is a yet to be discovered superstar of instagram.  If you check the hashtag #dogsofinstagram you will find many adorable photo's of the little chap.

Here's how he describes himself - "Little chihuahua,big heart,huge ears."  While small in stature it is easy to tell that he is a very much and loved and love giving little chap.  While his bark may be worse than his bite dogs of that size are known to be very strong and make even the hardest men both nervous as well as emotional.

So what does the average day of a dog tweeting look like?  Lets take a closer look -

Morning - "Why doesn't the Animal Channel have more shows about chihuahua's, they are missing a niche market there!"

Lunchtime - "That awkward moment when you fart and blame the human #shedidit"

The afternoon "My human came home from school. I thought I would never see her again !!!!!!!!! Puppy Dance time!"

Dinner - "chicken chicken chicken CHICKEN!!"

Oh and he is a little bit famous too - "A little bird just told me that I might make another appearance on @CampbellLiveNZ tomorrow, not sure about @WendyWings but definitely ME".  Any dog that can make an appearance on national tv not just once but multiple times - wow!!!

@peanutwings is quite selective about what he gives away on twitter.  There are no doggy secrets divulged or dodgey secrets of his owners wither for that matter!  Intermittent would be the best word to describe the frequency of tweets that will appear in your timeline should you choose to follow,

What about love and romance?  Well as far as I can see there are no special love interests or little wings running around the place yet.  We will all have to watch this space to see if there are any developments on that front!  So if you happen to know of a little chihuahua who is unlucky in love

No he won't expand your boundaries or challenge your thinking (in the conventional way) but he will add charm, spice and a few laughs to your day.
